Swans Just Have The Edge

Last season both these sides won their home matches against each other. Garry Monk has just a few more match winners at his disposal.

Given how established Stoke City have become in the top flight, it’s surprising to learn that they haven’t won consecutive away league matches since 2011.

Having triumphed at Villa Park a fortnight ago, I won’t be backing them to end that sequence at the Liberty Stadium on Monday night.

Swansea may be on a run of five winless matches across all competitions, but they are too good to be denied for very much longer. Indeed, the Welsh club remain unbeaten on their own patch since Manchester City won 4-2 back in May.

Particularly with Mame Diouf set to be absent for the visitors, the Swans have just a bit more by way of attacking options, while they are defensively very similar.

StanJames offer 14/5 on the hosts shading the encounter by one goal and that looks about right.
