Stoke Underrated Again
Only a point separates their relative home and away tallies and the Europa League isn’t much of an incentive for Spurs.
Last month the bookmakers gifted us a crazy price about a Stoke home win and they’ve done exactly the same for the Tottenham game.
Stoke have gained 27 points (W8-D3-L6) at the Britannia this season whilst Tottenham have earned 28 points (W8-D4-L5) on their travels from the same number of games.
Realistically there is very little to separate the teams yet Tottenham are 8/5 (Betfred) favourites to win with Stoke second favourites at 19/10 (Bet365).
I don’t buy the argument that Tottenham have more to play for, if anything the Europa League is a disincentive and Mark Hughes won’t tolerate any slacking from his side.
The draw is the obvious fly in the ointment but the value lies with Stoke at 19/10 (Bet365).
