Southampton can't really justify favouritism against any opponents right now (W0 D1 L8). Tempting to back the home win on that basis, but there's a further case to be made for a scoreline bet given that the Blades have only won 1-0 and 2-1 this season.
Saturday’s game at Bramall Lane looks like a classic case of first goal wins. Sheffield Utd don’t win many, but when they do it tends, not surprisingly, to be tight. We’re backing them to take it 1-0 at home, for the second time in three days, at best odds of 10/1 with BetVictor.
The bookies make Southampton quite firm favourites here (6/5), but after a run of 1pt taken from a possible 27, they need opposing. The goals have temporarily dried up for Danny Ings, and if that continues, they will struggle for end product; James Ward-Prowse is 2nd highest contributor with 5 - and he can’t score free-kicks every week.
The Blades got a lift in beating Villa, and it might just carry them to back-to-back successes.
