Returning Headache

A host of former Southampton players are set to make a return to St Mary's Stadium on Sunday as Liverpool players.

Southampton have lost their mojo in recent weeks at exactly the same time that Liverpool have found theirs. The away win now looks good value at 2/1.

Doubtless it will be a feisty affair at St Mary’s Stadium with Lallana, Lovren and Lambert all returning to their old stomping ground; perhaps one of them will make a telling contribution. More likely, Sturridge, Sterling, Henderson or even the suddenly effective Balotelli will decide this encounter.

Whereas Brendan Rodgers has his top players all performing at last, Ronald Koeman has a goalscoring problem now that Graziano Pelle has fired a blank in eight consecutive matches. This has led to consecutive home games without finding the net for the Saints; indeed they are winless in four on their own patch in all competitions.

The Reds are on a serious roll after just one defeat in 17 outings and this momentum should carry them nearer to the top four spots on Sunday.
