Reds To Keep Winning And Conceding
Liverpool score enough goals to be serious title contenders but a leaky defence makes their top four bid uncertain.
With 57 goals from 23 league matches, Liverpool have comfortably the second best goalscoring record in the Premier League behind Man City, but it’s at the other end that troubles persist. The Reds concede an average of 1.22 goals per game, only the seventh best record in the top flight.
A total of seven clean sheets sounds more concerning when you consider that Brendan Rodgers’ boys began 2013-14 with three on the bounce. That means there have only been four in the subsequent 20 league outings.
It’s with this in mind that we should ignore the 8/13 (Betfred) on the straight away win and instead take the 2/1 (Ladbrokes) on the Merseysiders winning not to nil.
West Brom have won just one of their last 14 in all competitions. The fact that they scored three times at Aston Villa and still lost in midweek only makes this bet look more likely to come off.
