QPR v Sunderland First Goalscorer Tip: Charlie Austin

Registered 5 shots on the opening day despite a missed penalty. Will be QPR’s main striker if Loic Remy moves before the transfer deadline.

Our goalscorer antepost bets have been somewhat of a jinx so far. Olivier Giroud is out for 4 months, whilst Charlie Austin missed a penalty on the opening day of the season.

Thankfully, the QPR man has time to redeem himself and a home game against Sunderland is an excellent opportunity to open his account.

The 25-year-old managed five shots against Hull and although four of them were blocked, two were inside the box.

With Loic Remy possibly on his way to Chelsea, Austin could be leading the QPR attack on his own this weekend.

There is an injury doubt over the striker but in using the first goalscorer market, the bet is declared void if he doesn’t play or comes onto the pitch after the first goal has been scored.

With Boylesports doubling our odds if he scores inside the first 20 minutes, Charlie Austin is an attractive first goalscorer bet at 11/2 (Boylesports)
