Putting Valencia On The Map

Ecuador's World Cup star scored a stunner against Hull and will test the dubious United back line.

Given that the Manchester United defence conceded five last weekend at Leicester, it’s no surprise that I’m doubting its credentials to keep a clean sheet at Old Trafford against a West Ham side who put three past Liverpool.

He may not have scored against the Reds, but at a best price of 4/1 (Betfred) it’s Enner Valencia who gets my backing in the anytime goalscorer market.

The Ecuadorian international announced his arrival in the Premier League in West Ham’s last away match. The 24-year-old unleashed a stunning 70mph strike from 25 yards which nearly burst the net.

The £12m signing found the net 18 times in 23 appearances for Mexican side Pachuca earlier in 2014 before playing a leading role for his country at the World Cup. Valencia grabbed three goals in three games for the South Americans and is now set to make a name for himself in England as well.
