Pressure's Off Carlos In Portuguese Showdown

Carvalho has been flattering his fellow countryman in the build-up to this one but his unfancied side have a chance if they can stay organised.

If the bookies were pricing this fixture up in the pre-Carlos Carvalhal era then I’d expect Swansea to be 16/1 shots but for some reason that’s what they are even after their dramatic resurgence.

The Welsh side have only lost once 1 of their last 8 league games and those stats are matched away from home when all competitions are factored in. That alone surely makes best odds of 15/4 with Ladrokes on them avoiding defeat here appealing.

Cynics will rightly point out that United have an excellent home record with very few points dropped but the Swans have avoided defeat in 3 of their last 5 trips to Old Trafford and several players will have memories of that.

Carvalhal brought home wins against Liverpool and Arsenal but even before the Portuguese arrived they drew 0-0 at Spurs earlier in the campaign. On a good day they have the ability to frustrate better opponents.
