Wolves have been completely forgotten while Manchester United veer from one disaster to the next, and West Ham focus on the Europa League. The West Midlands club are close behind with games-in-hand and could spring a late surprise.
It’s a market not many people are talking about but value is value, and Wolves could still gatecrash the Premier League Top 6 at best odds of 16/1 with Bet365.
The Molineux club begin Sunday in 8th spot, 3pts behind West Ham with a game-in-hand and 5pts behind Man Utd, with two games in hand. When you consider that the Red Devils are 1/3 to finish where they are, or higher, something isn’t quite right here.
The remaining fixture list for Wolves is decidedly mixed with the top three all still to be faced again. But Norwich and Brighton at home, plus Burnley away today, offer genuine hopes of a points total getting somewhere close to 60pts.
And let’s be clear, 58-59pts might be enough to win this bet. With United imploding, their remaining 4 games against Chelsea, Brentford, Brighton and Palace all look tricky.
Meanwhile, West Ham head to Stamford Bridge today and are totally, and understandably, focused on their European adventures. Upcoming games against Arsenal and Man City will be daunting in that context - whereas Wolves have only played twice in a month and have no other distractions.
