Premier League Preview: Player with Most Assists Tip

The title of Premier League assist king often flies under the radar but the same few names frequently dominate the top spots.

Last season was a Manchester City blitz with the champions’ players occupying the top four positions. The bookies are shaping up for a repeat but there’s a handsome slice of value to be found if you look beyond the Citizens.

Christian Eriksen played well enough to be named in the Premier League team of the season in 2017-18 but surprisingly he only claimed 9 assists, compared to 16 for top dog Kevin De Bruyne.

Those stats supposedly explain the 16/1 WilliamHill are offering on the Spurs creator having the most assists in 2018-19.

But that’s a huge price when you consider what the Danish international has done in this market previously. Eriksen ranked 2nd in 2016-17 with 15 assists and was runner-up again a year earlier with 13 assists.

The 26-year-old may still be improving and is most definitely the main supply line for Harry Kane.

It’s quite possible Pep will start rotating his Man City maestros more often this term whereas Pochettino knows how reliant he is on his great Dane. That could be a marginal gain for us and in a traditionally tight market we could scoop the prize at a handsome price.
