Premier League 'Lowest Scoring Team' Tip

The Toon Army have splashed the cash on Joelinton but he's never scored more than 8 league goals in his career, and that was in the Austrian Bundesliga. The loss of Rondon, Perez and most notably Benitez could prove far more costly than the record signing.

The lowest scoring team market is a bit of an old favourite because bookies frequently fail to distinguish between bad defences and lacklustre forward lines. One doesn’t have to equal the other.

Inevitably, newly promoted teams kick-off at short prices and this year is no exception with Sheffield Utd and Norwich leading the way. But both had prolific Championship strikers in the form of Pukki and Sharp and therein lies hope. The same can now be said of Brighton who have bought Neal Maupay this week for £20m.

In contrast, Newcastle Utd are available at best odds of 10/1 with Betfred having sold their primary goal-getters from 2018-19. Ayoze Perez bagged 13 while Salomon Rondon netted 12. Both are no longer there.

The pair accounted for 25 of the Magpies’ 42 league goals which was still the second worst tally in the division once you remove the relegated sides.

All the pressure is on Steve Bruce and club record signing Joelinton. Mike Ashley has made sure of that, yet again.
