Premier League Double

It looks like being a good weekend for the top teams and we've picked two to win by a few goals.

We won’t find a meaningful margin simply by backing Chelsea and Tottenham today, but if we’re bold and take on the handicap market that all changes. Back the two London outfits to win -2 goals (by 3 or more) at best odds of 9.5/1 with BetFair.

Chelsea v West Ham:

This looks like a total mis-match with Lampard’s boys aiming to quickly get back in the saddle after Manchester City ended a sequence of six straight Premier League wins. The Blues have scored 3+ goals four times already in the top flight and West Ham are there for the taking. Their slide down the table has come with a wretched run of form (L5 D1), conceding 9 goals in their last 3 outings. Until Fabianski returns you can’t see a massive improvement at the back.

Tottenham v Bournemouth:

This isn’t a tip anyone would have recommended a fortnight ago but football is an odd business and Mourinho’s arrival has breathed new life into Spurs. Harry Kane is on fire while Dele Alli looks like the 2017 version. Even pre-Jose this was a fixture the hosts have always enjoyed, winning the last four by a combined 13-0. Bournemouth have improved defensively this season, so this is a risk, but they have still come up short against the best attacks.
