One Half Wonders
The south coast side may be winless, but they haven't let in a single first half goal this season, despite facing four of the top-7 already.
Southampton pulled off a coup by drawing 0-0 at the Etihad a fortnight ago, so Hassenhuttl will surely set out for more of the same at Stamford Bridge. It’s hard to see Tuchel letting Chelsea slip up again after a tough week though.
The best bet with the European champions heavily odds-on, looks like ‘Half-time: Draw - Full-time: Chelsea’ at best odds of 31/10 with BetVictor.
Amazingly, the Saints are yet to concede a first half goal. That may be an anomaly, but it’s no coincidence that Man City, Man United, West Ham and Wolves have been restricted to just two goals between them.
The hosts are title contenders, but an over-reliance on Lukaku could grow concerning. Their home match xGs (expected goals) so far have been 1.19, 1.22 and 0.19 - signs that breaking down opponents who come for a point is proving tricky.
