North London Derby Preview
Spurs outplayed Man Utd and grew into the game with Liverpool, earning a draw in spectacular fashion. Revenge is on the cards against Gunners who travel badly.
Tottenham may be at full strength for the North London derby at Wembley and the return of Toby Alderweireld could be particularly significant. That gives Spurs the added defensive steel which is so evidently missing from Arsenal.
Forget the Gunners’ 5-1 win over Everton last time out; their home record has been good all season and that’s done precisely nothing to help their wretched away record (W3 D4 L6).
The signings of Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan may keep the goals coming in a general sense but they are no nearer to solving the main problem - defensive weakness. If Swansea and Bournemouth could score 5 between them against Arsenal then Kane et al can inflict significant pain.
Pochettino’s boys are barely odds-against to take the 3 points here but we can improve that to 13/5 with Betfair if we back Spurs -1 goal in the handicap market.
They beat Liverpool 4-1 and Man Utd 2-0 at Wembley and weren’t flattered by either scoreline. Another ‘big six’ victory at home with something to spare is highly possible.
