Next Premier League Manger To Leave Post Tip: Paul Lambert

The Aston Villa boss is running out of time. His side are dreadful to watch, results are bad and the next 3 league fixtures are against Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

The bookies think that Harry Redknapp will be the next manager to leave his post in the Premier League (7/4 Paddy Power) but at 6/1 (BetVictor) I wouldn’t be surprised if Paul Lambert got the shove first.

One thing that works in the favour of ‘Harry Houdini’ is his reputation for getting sides out of relegation trouble and surely nobody expected QPR to be anywhere other than where they are given that they finished 4th in the Championship last term.

Furthermore, QPR have a great home record (W5 D4 L2) so the majority of the paying fans are at least seeing good results most of the time. The same cannot be said of Aston Villa’s long-suffering supporters.

The regulars at Villa Park have only seen their side muster 7 goals in 10 home outings as bad results haven’t even been compensated for by entertainment. The crowd turned on Lambert during the feeble 1-0 victory over lowly Blackpool in the FA Cup recently and a protest is planned for Saturday’s clash with Liverpool.

That’s the other problem. After the Merseysiders, the west Midlanders face a tricky encounter with Championship leaders Bournemouth in the FA Cup before league clashes with Arsenal and Chelsea.

In another three weeks the club could be very near the foot of the table and out of all other competitions. Randy Lerner wants to sell up and he hardly wants the threat of relegation destroying his hopes of a decent price. Lambert is the inevitable fall guy in this equation.
