Next PL Manager To Leave Their Post Tip

Watford finished last season with just 1 win in their final 9 games. A board who are twitchy at the best of times will already have a finger on the trigger.

The first Premier League manager to leave their post market often get settled before the leaves turn and the bookies have their shortlist ready to go.

Claude Peul is favourite but I think Leicester have the players to pick up some good early results. Next in line are Mourinho and Benitez - two big names who many suspect will jump before they are pushed. Would I back them to see the season out? No. But first out the door is another matter and neither’s results are likely to be that bad.

Instead I’d recommend the selection of Javi Gracia at best odds of 8/1 with WilliamHill. The Watford boss took the helm in January and subsequently lost twice as many matches as he won, closing the season with just a 26.7% win ratio.

Then consider that Marco Silva previously got the push after a 30.8% win rate. He was given just 26 matches despite earning enough plaudits to now be managing Everton.

So we know the Watford board have no patience and the prospects for a better campaign seem minimal with star striker Richarlison having followed his former boss to Goodison Park.

Most other sides who may struggle down the bottom are likely to give their managers some time due to achievements up to this point at their clubs - Warnock, Hughton, Wagner, Hughes and Howe to name a few.

Gracia has no such credit in the bank and the more I think about it the more I think his price is a steal.
