Next Permanent United Manager Betting

With David Moyes gone we look at the betting for his potential replacements.

Odds correct at time of writing.

Louis Van Gaal – 3/1 Stan James
The 62-year-old will be available after the World Cup and comes with an impressive CV. A former manager of Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, he won’t be overawed at Manchester United. As such he is understandably favourite.

Jurgen Klopp – 6/1 Betfred
Has performed miracles on a modest budget in Germany, winning the title twice with Borussia Dortmund. A fiercely loyal employee, it won’t be easy to prise him away.

Ryan Giggs - 7/1 Stan James
In temporary charge until the end of the season it’s difficult to see what he can achieve in four games. Lack of managerial experience will count against him.

Diego Simeone – 18/1 Bet365
Similar to Klopp, the Argentine has fashioned a side capable of competing with Real Madrid and Barcelona but at a fraction of the outlay. Will the Old Trafford faithful forgive him for getting David Beckham sent off in the 1998 World Cup?

Roberto Martinez – 33/1 William Hill
It would seem perverse if United hired an Everton manager for the second season in a row but when has football been about logic? Martinez’s stock has never been higher and his Premier League experience gives him an edge over his rivals.

Antonio Conte – 40/1 Bet365
On course to win Serie A for a third season in a row his Juventus team are the dominant force in Italy. His results in Europe have been less spectacular and connection with the 2011 betting scandal might put off the Glazers.

Joachim Löw – 66/1 Bet365
Manager of the German national side since 2006 he might be looking for a fresh challenge after Brazil. Renowned for attractive attacking football.
