Monday Night Fallibility

Rashford is missing for United but Arsenal's defensive frailties are so pronounced that it's still almost impossible to back them to improve their miserable Old Trafford record.

On Monday night we might get a better sense of which of these proud clubs is in bigger trouble this season. With home advantage, we’re backing Manchester Utd to get the win, with both teams scoring, at best odds of 10/3 with BetFair.

For all their troubles, the Red Devils have enjoyed two impressive victories at Old Trafford already this term with Chelsea and Leicester two tough tests overcome.

In contrast, Arsenal have been feeble on the road for a while now, and the surrender of a 2-0 lead at lowly Watford recently suggests that may continue.

The biggest concern of all is the Gunners’ defence. They have conceded 10 goals in 6 matches, which isn’t great, but the indications are that they are likely to concede even more in the future.

That’s because their average of 18.3 shots faced per match is comfortably the worst in the entire Premier League. That stat cannot tally with a serious top-4 challenge for very long.
