Man City Keep Trucking

City already have a +19 goal difference and their expected goal numbers are equally encouraging. They are the real deal.

Man City have a highly impressive +19 goal difference after just six games but this is a fair representation of how much better they’ve been than the opposition. They are league leaders in expected goals (16.5) and best defence (3.60 expected goal conceded) and comfortingly they marry up with the actual numbers. True, Man City are outstripping their expected numbers but that is understandable given the quality in their team.

The big question is can they continue this run after last year’s bright start fizzled out - again the answer is yes. Pep Guardiola has reshaped the team and had a full year to get his message across to the existing personnel.

As for Chelsea, they are hitting similar numbers to last season without enjoying the same amount of positive variance. They are still a very good team but not as good as the opposition. A City win at 5/6 in the draw no bet market is the play.
