Howe Good Can They Get?
Bournemouth are having a barnstorming start to the season and they have another winnable game this weekend. The Saints are overdue to start scoring though.
I’m surprised that high-flying Bournemouth are still being offered up at odds-against (11/10) at home to bottom five opponents. However, we can improve our odds even more, to a best price 3/1 with Boylesports, by backing Southampton to score in defeat.
Eddie Howe has worked wonders to keep the Cherries on the coat-tails of the Champions League spots; the 4-0 away win last time out at Watford being the season highlight to date.
Life has been very different along the coast for Mark Hughes with Southampton losing three on the bounce without scoring. But goals are surely coming. The Saints have had 117 shots so far in 2018-19 which ranks 3rd, only behind Man City and Chelsea.
The visitors have been wasteful so far but with the number of tickets they’re buying a change of fortune is surely imminent. Bournemouth have won twice at home already while conceding, and that trend is likely to continue.
