Gunners Will Fire In The End
Arsenal have been level at the break in 6 of their 8 away games while Villa have been at least drawing in 5 of 7 home outings at half-time.
We won’t win any lucrative prizes for suggesting Arsenal will win at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon as best odds of 4/7 suggest. After all, the hosts are winless on their own patch while the Gunners have the second best away record in the top flight.
That all said, where we can find our value is by anticipating Villa make it tougher than expected early on. They have been ahead (once) or level at half-time in 71% of their home matches but only 29% of the time have they been able to claim a result by full-time.
Contrast that to Arsenal who surprisingly have only been ahead at the break in 12.5% of their away league matches so far. Yet Wenger’s boys have gone on to win 62% of the time on their travels.
We saw Villa’s fighting spirit in the 0-0 home draw with Man City last month and again in a 1-1 draw at Southampton last weekend. They were incredibly fortunate to take a point on both occasions but they might frustrate Arsenal for a while at least here.
The best bet is therefore ‘half-time: Draw - full-time: Arsenal’ at best odds of 18/5 with BetVictor.
