Former Toffee Is Over His Sticky Patch
Jelavic was a revelation when he first arrived at Goodison Park and the signs are that he can make a big impact at Hull.
Time will tell, but Hull may have done some of the best business of the January transfer window by bringing in two top level strikers. The early indications are that Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic are both shrewd acquisitions and the latter may prove to the bigger goal contributor in the long term.
Although Long has scored twice in his first four games, it is Jelavic who is having a hatful of opportunities. The former Everton man has so far only converted against Sunderland but he had a further seven attempts at the Stadium of Light alone.
In total, following his debut, the Croatian international has averaged a remarkable 5.25 shots per game for Hull. When he gets his radar fully in order, it might just be that we see the forward who scored nine in his first 13 matches for Everton in 2011-12.
Second bottom Cardiff continue to offer up chances having lost 2-1 at home to Wigan in the Cup last time out and 3-0 at rivals Swansea the week before that. In this company, Jelavic should be snapped up at best odds of 3/1 (PaddyPower) to score anytime.
