Final Day Highest Scorers Tip

With Man City and Liverpool involved in potentially tense encounters, Spurs look a decent bet at much longer odds.

Bet365 are offering odds on who will be the highest scoring team on the final day and with all 20 teams playing simultaneously, it’s an exciting market to take a punt on.

Not surprisingly, the bookies are leading with Liverpool and Man City (both 11/4) but I think the pressure that comes with chasing the title means the better value lies elsewhere. Chelsea are next in the betting (8/1) because they are playing already relegated Cardiff, but the Blues rarely go for the juggernaut away from Stamford Bridge.

Instead I would recommend Tottenham at an enticing 11/1. This will almost certainly be Tim Sherwood’s final game in the hot seat and there is plenty of people around the club who will want to see him go out on a high. The former Blackburn captain has had a pretty raw deal considering his results compare favourably with the very best Spurs managers.

Today the Lilywhites face an Aston Villa side who have limped to safety after six defeats in their final eight matches. In that run they have conceded four goals to Stoke, Man Utd, Swansea and Man City.

Tottenham’s last three games at White Hart Lane have produced three home victories in which the hosts have scored 11 goals. Everything points to more of the same here.
