Everton v Burnley Preview

Everton v Burnley Preview

Burnley have a miserable away record but Everton are being priced up as a top-6 team, which they aren’t.

I’ve been down on Burnley most of the season, my expected goal numbers suggest they are lucky to avoid a relegation battle but they’ve also landed some nice bets, beating Liverpool being just one example.

Sean Dyche might divide opinion amongst the purists but his team have steel and that isn’t captured in the markets. Burnley have been mocked (by me included) for their terrible away record but should they really be 15/2 to win at Goodison Park?

Everton have won their last seven home games in the league but they are being priced up as a top-6 team, which they are not. I don’t even think they are the best of the rest; that honour should go to Southampton.

Backing Everton to win at heavily odds-on is a sucker’s bet which makes Burnley cracking value at 15/8 in the double chance market.
