Eagles Prey On The Weak

Sunderland lost their last away match 8-0 and there were a couple more desperate moments in the home loss to Arsenal last week.

Sunderland fans head to Selhurst Park in a state of trepidation on Monday night and not knowing which goalkeeper will be called upon to stop the rot.

Vito Mannone is under huge pressure following the 8-0 loss to Southampton and after further blunders made in the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal last week. Gus Poyet has acknowledged as much, but hasn’t revealed whether he will drop the Italian or not.

Either way I expect the Black Cats to adopt the same cautious approach they did against the Gunners. That can stop humiliation, but if mistakes keep creeping in then the outcome is likely to be the same.

The Eagles have kept clean sheets in south London against Leicester and Burnley already while the Mackems have failed to score in three of their four trips away from the Stadium of Light.

Palace look likely to triumph (23/20 Ladbrokes) against fragile visitors but the best bet would be to take the home win to nil at best odds of 5/2 with Skybet.
