Until the Burnley juggernaut hits the skids we should ride it out. This is exactly the sort of fixture they tend to love.
Every year I marvel at how bookies stick with pre-conceived pricing in the weight of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. It took me a long time to ‘accept’ Burnley but how can they be underdogs against Brighton, a side with 14 points fewer?!
It’s not as if the form takes us in a different direction. The Seagulls have taken just 2 points from a possible 18 while Burnley have won 6 of their last 8 and rank T3 in the form table over that period.
We had to wait late for our 6/1 winner in midweek on Burnley to win 1-0 and we can get 7/1 with Betfair this time. That has been the outcome in 6 of their last 14 league games so the value is self-evident and getting even better.
