Ding Dong Derby

Spurs have put to bed talk of a Wembley hoodoo by winning 6 and drawing 1 of their last 7 there. But West Ham always fancy this fixture and could give them an initial scare.

When these sides met in the League Cup back in October Spurs blew a 2-0 half-time lead to lose 3-2. It proved a false dawn for Slaven Bilic and I have a funny feeling we could see a reversal at Wembley on Thursday.

West Ham have actually led 4 times at half-time away in the league but only gone on to win once, 3-0 at Stoke. Meanwhile Tottenham have only led at the break in 4 of their 10 league games at Wembley but have won 6 in the end, including each of the last 3.

So West Ham tend to start away games better than they finish them and Spurs finish them better than they start them. Back ‘Half-time: West Ham - Full-time: Spurs at a best price of 28/1 with BetVictor.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the Hammers were fast out of the traps after their last-gasp winner on Tuesday but class should tell in the end. Besides which, the bigger squads should be better equipped to last the pace after only 48 hours between fixtures.
