Devilishly Cagey

Neither team has been beaten yet and that owes much to both defences.

It sounds odd to say it but backing Swansea to win (13/5 Coral) is almost the obvious bet here. The Welsh club did the double over Man Utd last season and have started this campaign strongly while the Red Devils continue to attract mild criticism or weak praise at best.

However, the flak directed at Van Gaal and his team needs to be put into some perspective. They have still taken seven points from three games and kept clean sheets in all of them.

So I would instead recommend backing under 1.5 goals in the match at best odds of 9/4 as this could go either way, but it will surely be tight.

United have only allowed their league opponents a grand total of five shots on target in 2015-16. Yes they have looked plodding at times going forward but the defence has excelled.

For their part, the Swans have conceded the third fewest shots per game (8.3) in the top flight as well. It all suggests an intriguing but cagey affair at the Liberty Stadium awaits.
