Could It Get Worse For Chelsea?

Chelsea v Sunderland Tips: Sunderland/Draw

People backing Chelsea at 1/3 need their head examining. Both teams are struggling but all the pressure is on the home side.

Chelsea’s poor run of results continued with defeat at Leicester on Monday night and for the first time this season Jose Mourinho’s position looks in real danger.

A home game against Sunderland would normally rate as one of the easier fixtures around but if the Chelsea players want to get rid of their manager, defeat against a relegation rival (?!?) would pile on the pressure.

The problem with Chelsea is they’ve been playing poorly. They are ranked 14th in the league for expected goal difference, so cannot be counted unlucky.

Sunderland are even poorer but at least Sam Allardyce has shored up the defence. They have conceded five in their last five matches but three came at the Emirates. At 13/5 (BetVictor) the value is on Sunderland leaving Stamford Bridge with at least a point.
