Clean Sheet Kings Come Home

West Ham shut out their opponents for the 12th time this season at Villa Park while Norwich denied mighty Man City.

West Ham are on excellent form after two wins on the bounce but they can’t keep expecting Kevin Nolan to contribute two goals a game. They will miss Andy Carroll for games such as this, where I anticipate under 1.5 goals at best odds of 11/4 with Boylesports.

One thing the Hammers can rely on under Sam Allardyce are lots of fine defensive displays. Amazingly, Saturday’s clean sheet at Villa Park was their 12th in 25 league matches this season, the most in the top flight.

And what of Norwich? Any team that can hold Man City to a 0-0 draw deserve some respect as well. The Canaries recorded the same scoreline in their previous Carrow Road outing against Newcastle so it’s clear where the problems lie for Chris Hughton.

Despite heavy investment in the forward line last summer, Norwich still have the second worst goal return in the division. A tight, nervy encounter is surely on the cards here as the relegation battle heats up.
