City Nemeses?

Palace have had a win and a draw in their last two games with Manchester City with their captain playing a major part in both those matches. Liverpool will be hoping the Eagles spring another shock.

In this fixture last season I had a cheeky, impromptu scorecast on Palace to win 1-0 with Luka Milovojevic to score at 400/1. So you can imagine my delight when the Eagles were awarded an injury-time penalty, and my despair when Ederson pulled off the save from the Serbian!

Roll on 16 months and the Palace captain has now converted 10 consecutive penalties and become the club’s 2nd highest ever Premier League goalscorer. At a best price 18/1 with Bet365, he is an intriguing prospect in the first goalscorer market, and if we go each-way we’ll get paid out at 1/3rd odds if he scores later in the match instead.

Milivojevic struck in the Eagles’ unlikely 3-2 victory at the Etihad this season, again from the spot. It’s not a coincidence the Londoners get so many penalties with Zaha and Townsend dribbling inside the box and drawing fouls routinely.

The bookies aren’t convinced so let’s take a chance on an interesting twist coming in the title race. It’s only 8 days since this exact tip would have won when the Serb struck the only goal at St James’ Park.
