Cherries To Be Pipped By Champs

Chelsea are definitely improving and will surely take the points here but both teams have scored in 71% of Bournemouth away games.

Despite all the hoopla surrounding Diego Costa and Jose Mourinho, the less headline-grabbing news to come out of last weekend was that Chelsea looked much more like their old selves in drawing at White Hart Lane.

The champions have now gone three games unbeaten in all competitions (W2 D1) and the green shoots of recovery are evident, not least in defence where there have been three consecutive clean sheets. However, I like the look of Chelsea to win but with both teams scoring at best odds of 9/4 with Coral.

Bournemouth may not get many points on their travels but that doesn’t mean they don’t carry a goal threat. They scored four at West Ham in August but have also netted away to Norwich, Stoke, Man City and Swansea. We shouldn’t be surprised given that Eddie Howe’s boys rank a healthy 8th in the league for shots per game on the road (12).

Throw in the fact that the Cherries scored three against Everton last weekend, including with the last kick of the game, and they will be buzzing.

Class should prevail but expect goal action at both ends in the Saturday evening kick-off.
