Chelsea To Grind Past Stubborn Palace

The Blues excel in the second half while Palace often fail to keep their concentration for a full 90 minutes.

The league leaders are obviously expected to win at Selhurst Park, but the expectation that they will lead at half-time and full-time (best price 5/4 StanJames) is misleading.

The bookies see a half-time draw as the less likely route to a Chelsea victory and yet the form book makes it look probable. The Blues’ demolition of Arsenal was actually atypical of a Mourinho side which tends to feel its way into a contest. Before the Gunners match, Chelsea’s last four league outings had all been 0-0 at the break.

As for Palace, they are actually much the same in this regard. The Eagles have been 0-0 at the interval against Man Utd, Arsenal (twice), Spurs (twice) and Man City. Unfortunately for the relegation contenders, they have lost all those fixtures by the final whistle.

We should expect the same to happen here against the Europa League holders. BetVictor have the best price on ‘Draw/Chelsea’ but I recommend taking the 16/5 with William Hill instead who will refund losing double result bets if it ends 0-0.

*Bore Draw Insurance: If a match finishes 0-0, WilliamHill will refund losing Correct Score and Double Result bets on that match as a Free Bet.
