Chelsea Can End Everton's Top Four Hopes At the Bridge

Roberto Martinez's hopes of Champions League football may slip from remote to miniscule on Saturday.

You fear that Everton’s hopes of achieving something truly noteworthy in the league this season are fading after two consecutive away defeats.

The hammering at Liverpool was embarrassing and out of character, while the 1-0 loss to Spurs was equally galling in its own way. You can’t help but think that Roberto Martinez’s boys compete against the big boys, yet don’t get enough heavyweight results, while Chelsea are masters of taking the points from tight encounters.

Eden Hazard is 19/10 (BetVictor) to score anytime and could prove the difference. Meanwhile, the Toffees will miss Romelu Lukaku who is still injured, but ineligible to face his parent club regardless.

It’s with this in mind that I’m backing the league leaders to win this match by a one-goal margin at best odds of 13/5 with Ladbrokes. That’s a big improvement on taking any sort of home win at best odds of 8/13 (BetVictor).

1pt Chelsea to win by one goal 13/5 with Ladbrokes
