Cardiff Unity Maintains Hope Of Top Flight Survival

Amid the bleakness of recent weeks at Cardiff, the team spirit has only been cemented. Warnock has a side who will scrap for every point and today is a huge match down the bottom of the Premier League.

Some regular readers may think we have an anti-Southampton agenda, which isn’t the case, but the fact remains they remain the most overrated team in the lower reaches of the Premier League table.

After a new manager bounce they are still just two points above the relegation zone, and their opponents today. But whereas Cardiff are 1/2 shots for the drop with many firms, the Saints are as long as 12/1. This, after a last week escape in 2017-18, doesn’t make much sense.

The smart money is to back Cardiff-Draw in the double chance market today at best odds of 11/10 with Bet365. Odds-against looks pretty healthy when you consider that Southampton have only won 2 of their 12 home league games this season.

Obviously Cardiff have been even worse on the road but their 2-0 home win over Bournemouth last time out gives them hope. The Bluebirds clearly had strong group unity even before the Emiliano Sala tragedy unfolded.

Warnock’s men took 4 points away to Palace and Leicester right after Christmas without conceding a goal so there’s a well-organised, spirited team there, just needing consistency.
