Burnley v Man Utd Preview

Burnley v Man Utd Preview

Burnley have been defying the numbers all season and can gain another result at fortress Turf Moor.

For most of the season I’ve been focusing on underlying shot numbers rather than results because the scarcity of goals means results don’t always proffer a fair reflection of performance – however for Burnley vs Man Utd I’m going against everything I believe in. That’s not to say I’ve changed direction in my logic, just sometimes the odds are wrong!

Burnley have somehow posted terrible shot numbers, they are bottom in expected goal difference but should comfortably retain their Premier League status. Meanwhile Man Utd have been blighted by bad luck and would be challenging for the title most years rather than languishing in fifth.

However, Sean Dyche has Turf Moor under a spell, his team have only lost four homes games in the league all season. They can avoid defeat again at 5/4 (Bet365).
