Burnley are Masters of Recovery
The Clarets are still in the European conversation and won the reverse fixture 3-0 away. One point behind Arsenal, but the bookies treat them like relegation candidates.
In a situation reminiscent of Bournemouth being favourites to beat Palace, Watford somehow find themselves at shorter odds than mid-table Burnley who, despite being technically at home, are 5/2 shots with BetVictor.
Sceptics will point out that the Clarets just lost 5-0 to Man City, but that result won’t harm them for long. Sean Dyche has built a squad well-versed in responding quickly to setbacks. In December they also lost 5-0 to Spurs - before winning their next two games.
A month before that they lost 3-0 to Sheffield Utd only to hand out two 3-0 victories of their own immediately after.
Yes they miss Barnes and Wood, but a front three of Rodriquez, Vydra and McNeil can cause plenty of problems.
Apart from a new manager bounce around Christmas, Watford have barely won a league match all season. They have to be opposed here.
