Bournemouth Have Nothing To Fear

Bournemouth Have Nothing To Fear

United got found out in midweek and suddenly their squad looks threadbare.

It seems quite apt making a bet in the Bournemouth v Man Utd game when Louis Van Gaal confirmed himself a gambler mid-week.

The Dutch coach showed his propensity for the outlandish when substituting his goalkeeper for the penalty shootout against Costa Rica in the World Cup. That worked out in his favour and he took the plaudits. Substituting Juan Mata for Nick Powell in this week’s crucial Champions League encounter worked out less well.

The merits of Van Gaal’s substitutions can be discussed at length but the point that was missed is why Nick Powell was on the bench in the first place. United finished the game with Lingard, Powell, Varela and Borthwick-Jackson on the pitch. They all have time on their side but it’s not exactly a team that has the opposition quaking in their boots.

This brings us to the game against Bournemouth and what exactly do the home side have to fear? They beat Chelsea last weekend and they face a team that rank 15th in shots per game and 10th in expected goals.

Bournemouth can pile on the misery with a home win at 5/2 (BetVictor).
