Both Teams NOT To Score Acca

The Premier League is full of teams who struggle to score a goal most weeks. These 4 matches all feature teams who have failed to find the net 43% of the time; luckily some of their opponents don't do much better.

In an average Premier League match the bookies have a marginal expectation that both teams will score. That means we can get some good odds on one or both teams failing to score and on Saturday we’lll attempt a 12.05/1 acca with BetVictor on ‘Both Teams to Score - NO’ in the following clashes:

Crystal Palace v Watford: (6/5)

The case is easy to make on this one because Palace matches only see both teams score 33% of the time - a divisional low. That trend is increasing with 5 of their last 6 outings in all competitions featuring a ‘0’ for one team or the other. The Eagles rank T16 for goals scored and have failed to net in 70% of their Selhurst league showdowns but they do rank T7 defensively.

Burnley v Fulham: (23/20)

A huge game in the relegation scrap with Burnley suddenly showing some of their old resilience by winning back-to-back fixtures, conceding just once in the process. The Clarets really score more than 1 goal so clean sheets are their bread and butter. Helpfully for them, Fulham have failed to score in 43% of their matches although Ranieri can claim a couple of recent shutouts down the other end.

Cardiff v Huddersfield: (31/40)

Poor old Huddersfield. All the sides down the bottom have picked up, to various extents, except for them. A miserable 13 goals scored in 21 outings tells its own story but they travel to a Cardiff side who also average less than a goal per game. The difference is that Neil Warnock is conjuring up some defensive heroics from his side who kept recent clean sheets at Palace and Leicester.

Chelsea v Newcastle: (11/20)

The late kick-off is the only one in this acca where the bookies really expect the same as we require so if we’re still live at 5.30pm then we have every chance! Newcastle are a bit like Palace in that they rank 19th for goals scored but a credible 8th defensively. Rafa Benitez will pack 10 men behind the ball for a game like this and he will note how effective it was for Southampton when they drew 0-0 at Stamford Bridge on January 2.
