Bogey Team Back At The Bridge
Crystal Palace have beaten Chelsea 3 times in their last 5 meetings which makes a mockery of their odds here. The champions have Barcelona on their horizon which may not help either.
Of course it’s unlikely, but there are a few reasons why Crystal Palace are undervalued at best odds of 11/1 with Betfred to win at Chelsea.
First of all, they’ve won on their last two trips to Stamford Bridge, both by a 2-1 scoreline. That was also the scoreline when the Eagles triumphed in the reverse fixture back in October.
Add to that, Chelsea have lost 4 of their last 5 in the Premier League including a 0-3 home loss to Bournemouth and a 4-1 at Watford. All is not right in the home camp and hopes of a top four finish have diminished greatly.
That makes the midweek trip to the Nou Camp all the more important and Conte may rest 1-2 players with that Champions League showdown in mind.
Palace were brave in defeats to Spurs and Man Utd and might have Wilfried Zaha back for this one - a potential match-winner.
It remains to be seen if all this is enough, but at the very least it makes the huge odds suspect.
