Baggies Slightly Better Than Bare Results

Arsenal are inconsistent on the road and the hosts really should be scoring a few more goals based on the chances they are creating.

West Brom are on a terrible run and we’ve predicted bad things for them in these columns but they deserve some credit for most recent performances, even if results have scarcely been better.

In Pardew’s first match they drew 0-0 at home to Palace despite 20 attempts on goal. In the 3-1 away defeat to Stoke they actually outshot their opponents 17-9 and it was a similar story on Boxing Day where their 17-7 shot advantage against Everton could only bring another 0-0 draw at the Hawthorns.

They are unfancied against Arsenal on Sunday but I fancy they can pick up a credible 1-1 draw at best odds of 7/1 with WilliamHill. The Londoners have lost their last two trips to this ground.

Wenger’s team haven’t won two away league games in a row all season but with Sanchez and Wilshere suddenly firing it’s hard to see them losing against a side winless in 18. A low scoring draw however, is the least the Baggies’ deserve on recent form.
