Baggies On Revenge Mission

WBA were denied victory at Stamford Bridge by a shocking late penalty decision, but they've won their last 2 at home against Chelsea.

It will go against popular opinion, and seemingly logic, to suggest that Chelsea may have to work for the points at the Hawthorns on Tuesday, but let’s take a closer look.

First of all, West Brom have saved their best performances for the biggest opponents in 2013-14. They won at Old Trafford, and have secured draws with Arsenal, Spurs and Everton (twice). But the 2-2 match at Stamford Bridge was perhaps the biggest injustice of the season as Chelsea were gifted a highly dubious penalty in stoppage time to equalise.

It would be naive of anybody to think that Baggies players and fans will have forgotten this and they will be hugely motivated in pursuit of revenge. Furthermore, WBA have won their last two home clashes with the Blues.

That all said, Mourinho’s men are a different proposition to other recent Chelsea sides and, in Eden Hazard, boast arguably the form player in the league right now. I expect them to take the points but only after a competitive opening period. Bet on the half-time draw with the league leaders to win in the end at best odds of 7/2 with BetVictor.
