10th Nov 2019 | Premier League

Anfield Envy

It's a tough time to be a Manchester United fan with all the focus on their neighbours' massive match in the title race later in the day. This Old Trafford battle looks more like a mid-table scrap.

Manchester United fans wonder if their side has turned a corner, but they’ve been here many times before under Ole. It turned out his entire caretaker spell was a false dawn to be followed by the current run of 3 wins in 16 Premier League outings.

It seemed that things were looking up before the 1-0 loss at Bournemouth last weekend so I won’t get too excited about a better Europa League display in midweek. A 1-1 draw at best odds of 7/1 with Bet365 looks more likely than the expected home win here.

Brighton are flying under the radar somewhat, even after three wins in their last four. But we have to accept that all those successes came at the Amex and travelling hasn’t been their forte since the opening day. That said, it’s been a combination of tough away fixtures and fine margins going against Potter’s men.

United are much better at Old Trafford as a rule, which is why I’m not backing the Seagulls, despite their higher status in the table. But weirdly there’s nothing between them these days so a draw is perfectly feasible.
