Anfield Awe

Liverpool are probably the last side anyone would want to face right now after scoring 2+ goals in 12 of their last 13 games across all competitions, thrashing Porto 5-0 away last time out.

This fixture falls at a bad time for West Ham in the sense that Liverpool can give it their full attention and won’t be fatigued. The Reds have had 10 days off since their thrilling 5-0 away victory in Porto and don’t have a midweek game this coming week either.

With Salah, Mane and Firmino in delectable form it’s reasonable to back Liverpool even -2 goals in the handicap market at best odds of 7/4 with Betfair.

West Ham can point to a run of just 1 defeat in eight league games as a cause for optimism but that can equally mean you don’t see a thrashing coming.

The Hammers may have a false sense of security given they are 12th but only 4 points from the relegation zone. This could prove a wake-up call.

The Merseysiders triumphed 4-1 in the reverse fixture and have won 8 of their last 18 league games by 3 goals or more, not to mention 4 of their last 5 in the Champions League.
