A Recipe For Goals

Who knows what impact 'Benteke-gate' will have on Tuesday but Palace home games and Watford away games both tend to produce goals galore.

The side rock bottom of the league can’t justify being heavy favourites here (13/10). For all their improvement, Palace have still only won 2 of their 16 top flight matches this season.

Watford have had a more indifferent time of late but they’ve had plenty of bad luck and are still a threat to everyone they play. On balance, the most likely result is probably the longest price option with the bookies, the draw, and if we’re picking that we should opt for the score draw at a best price of 10/3 with Betfair.

Three of the Eagles’s last 4 games at Selhurst Park have ended 2-2 and they pretty much always score and concede at home since Hodgson arrived. The Hornets had never failed to score fewer than 2 on the road before their trip to Burnley at the weekend. And that was a consequence of playing over half a game with 10 men.

It would be a shock if there weren’t goals in this one and the price is right for backing an even distribution.
