2nd Half Divergence

These two sides are enjoying very different fortunes but surprisingly Palace have fared better in first halves. The second period is a drastically different matter.

After 11 consecutive victories in all competitions it’s hardly surprising that Arsenal are odds-on with every bookmaker to win at Selhurst Park. But we should back them to draw at half-time first, before taking 3 points, at best odds of 4/1 with Skybet.

It’s a fairly remarkable stat but the Gunners are yet to lead at half-time in any Premier League game this season, being level 8 times at the break and behind once. If matches ended after 45 minutes they would sit 17th.

In contrast Palace would rank 9th in a half-time league table (W2 D5 L2) with their problems generally coming in the 2nd period.

The Eagles have conceded more than 4 times as many goals in the second half whereas Emery’s side have scored the most goals of any team in the division, after half-time.

Ironically we only need these patterns to continue to win a lot more money than what’s on offer from Arsenal/Arsenal in the HT/FT market.
