Man City Do Just Enough

Man City Do Just Enough

City haven’t been running away with games and an obdurate West Ham could frustrate enough to limit the goals.

Man City are a prohibitive 2/7 (Betfred) to beat West Ham in the late game on Saturday but there is still a way to profit even if Man City win.

City haven’t been behind in the league this season and without chasing the game, they haven’t needed to unleash their full attacking potential.

Their last three league wins have all had under 2.5 goals and only against Palace did they really rack up the shot numbers in pursuit of victory. If they get an early goal against West Ham they might opt to kill the game rather than score a hatful.

But will West Ham upset the applecart?

They’ve been involved in some high scoring games of late but they have been outliers. The seven-goal thriller against Bournemouth actually had a goal expectation of 4.1 based on shot quantity and location.

Cleans sheets against Liverpool and Newcastle suggest the Hammers can frustrate for a while and that should be enough to realise under 2.5 goals at 2/1 with William Hill.
