Madrid Derby Most Likely Final

It suited Chelsea to play for a 0-0 draw in Spain but they’ll have to find something more to actually win the tie.

Despite the golden week which Chelsea have enjoyed, I’m tipping the better team to prevail in the end on Wednesday night, and logic would suggest that is Atletico Madrid.

The La Liga leaders are on the cusp of a glorious domestic title after a 1-0 victory away to Valencia at the weekend which kept them four points clear at the top with only three matches remaining.

Diego Simeone’s boys remain unbeaten in the Champions League in 2013-14 whereas Chelsea have slipped up three times. No real surprise when you consider that the Londoners have also lost to the likes of Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Villa this season.

Atletico have demonstrated no such frailty and haven’t even conceded a goal in their last six outings. A tight game could easily be decided by a solitary goal and I’m backing the visitors to get it.

Although the 1-0 away win is available at best odds of 8/1 (BetVictor) , I would recommend taking the 15/2 with Paddy Power. The Irish firm will refund your losing bet if the second leg ends as a draw, and 0-0 or 1-1 must be two of the most likely alternative scorelines.

*If the match ends as a draw in 90 minutes, Paddy Power will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match as a free bet.
