EFL Cup Winners Tip - Tottenham
Spurs somehow remain 5th favourites for the trophy despite categorically being one of the best two or three teams in the country. A home match with West Ham up next is nothing to fear either.
It may seem like we keep backing Tottenham for value but that’s for a very good reason. The bookies continue to inexplicably underrate Mauricio Pochettino’s side! At a best price of 17/2 with Paddy Power to win the EFL Cup, it’s the same old story.
In the past week we’ve seen a great demonstration of how well this Spurs side is developing. They grabbed a merited 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu in the Champions League before destroying Liverpool 4-1 at Wembley.
Bizarrely they are still only 5th favourites for the Carabao Cup despite having a decent draw - a home tie with West Ham stands between them and the quarter finals. There is no way Tottenham are only the 5th best side left in the competition; most likely they are 2nd or 3rd best.
Admittedly the EFL Cup is tough to pick a winner in as the top sides try to balance it with higher priorities. But make no mistake, Pochettino is desperate for a trophy and he will take it seriously if a path to glory opens up.
