EFL Cup Tuesday Acca

Tuesday night sees the return of the League Cup and the prospects of huge upsets look minimal. Instead we can back 3 top flight sides at generous odds, two against lower league opponents.

Last year’s 3rd Round of the Carabao Cup threw up virtually nothing by way of upsets. Perhaps that’s because both sides tend to rotate their squads and the better teams have the depth so they tend to prevail even when resting players.

With that in mind we’ll back three favourites to win on Tuesday night at best odds of 9.35/1 with Betfred.

Burnley to win @ Burton (Evens):

It’s surprising to see a Premier League outfit offered up at evens money to beat a side sat 15th in League One. It might have made some sense before Saturday but Burnley’s 4-0 victory over Bournemouth must be a turning point and Dyche won’t let all that goodwill disappear again immediately.

Fulham to win @ Millwall (13/10):

These teams have headed in opposite directions since meeting in the Championship last season. Millwall are now in the bottom three after a long winless run and although Fulham aren’t flying high in the top flight they have reasons to be hopeful. Jokanovic will know a victory would raise morale and £100m of summer investment can help his cause here.

Wolves to win at home to Leicester (5/4):

The bookies haven’t really decided which of these sides is better yet but but I think it will prove to be the newly promoted side once they can convert a few of those draws into wins. Plus they have home advantage here. Having started the same XL for every league match so far, there will be good reserve players, such as Adama Traore, champing at the bit at Molineux.
